Delhi: The relief news for cricket fans is that ICC has found a solution to the Indian team's refusal to go to Pakistan. Recently ICC announced that the hybrid model has been approved for the Champions Trophy to be held in 2025, which has also been accepted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Ahmed Shahzad's response

Pakistani cricketer Ahmed Shehzad, who is called Virat Kohli of Pakistan, reacted to this decision and called it harmful for Pakistan.

In a YouTube conversation, he said, “Pakistan had a golden opportunity to host India. In 2021, all the cricket boards had agreed that Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy. ICC cannot step back now, but PCB missed this opportunity. We should now forget that the Indian team will ever come to Pakistan. This was the only chance, and now that too is gone.”

Suggestion to build a stadium on the border

Ahmed Shahzad also put forward a strange idea. He said, “I had said in a podcast that a stadium should be built on the border, where one gate would be towards India and the other towards Pakistan. Players should come from their respective gates and play. But, even then there will be problems for BCCI and their government. When their players come to the field on our behalf, they will need visas, which they probably will not get.”

India-Pak clash in Champions Trophy

Pakistan is the defending champion of the 2017 Champions Trophy. Pakistan won the title by defeating India in the 2017 final. Both the teams have clashed five times so far in this tournament, in which Pakistan has won thrice.
