Honey Singh, who has recently been garnering all the limelight for his documentary Yo Yo Honey Singh: Famous, recently spilt a lot about his life. One such anecdote was when rumours made headlines that superstar Shah Rukh Khan had slapped him violently during a US tour they did together.
In the documentary, Singh dismissed the rumours, clarifying that it was he who had injured his head during the tour. He made it clear that the megastar could never raise a hand on him. Singh said, “Now, nine years later, let me tell you what happened. Nobody knows what I’m going to tell you on camera now. Someone started the rumour that Shah Rukh Khan slapped me. That man loves me; he’ll never raise his hand on me.”
Singh then opened up about the details of how he was hesitant to perform at a show in Chicago due to his struggles with mental health. He recalled, “I was convinced I’d die on stage, so I refused to perform. My managers tried to persuade me, but I shaved my head to avoid going on. They suggested I wear a cap, but I smashed a coffee mug on my head, injuring myself.”
Later, Honey Singh’s sister also revealed the distressing call she received from her brother. She said that Honey was in a frantic condition and was asking for help to save himself. After the call dropped, she even tried to reach out to Honey’s ex-wife, Shalini, who insisted Honey needed to perform.
