Popular messaging platform WhatsApp has added new New Year calling effects, sticker packs, and many new features for users around the world so that users can share their wishes (WhatsApp New Year Wishes) in a unique way. Interestingly, these features will be available for a limited time from 20 December to 3 January 2025. To get these features, users have to install the latest version of the application.

Talking about the features, the Meta-owned platform has introduced new festive backgrounds for video calls as well as new filters and effects inspired by the New Year. Not only this, the company has also added celebration emojis, which can be used to react in both personal and group chats. This platform will show animations to both the sender and the receiver. Apart from this, WhatsApp has introduced new sticker packs and avatar stickers specially designed for the new year.

Earlier, the company had added new effects for video calls, such as puppy ears, a karaoke mic, and underwater theme. Users now have more than ten effects. Users can now select specific participants for group calls without breaking the entire chat.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has also added typing indicators to let users know about real-time engagement in the chat. Users will be able to see visual indicators in the chat as well as the profile picture of the user who is typing in a personal or group chat. The tech giant has also added voice message transcripts that help users give a text-based transcription of an audio message. However, the receiver will get the transcript of the voice message, not the sender. Please note that voice messages are generated on the device and no other person, including the company, can listen or read the content.
