Ingredients required for raw banana pakoda

– Raw bananas – 2 medium (boiled and peeled)
– Gram flour – 1 cup
– Rice flour – 2 tbsp (for crispness)
– Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
– Green chilli (finely chopped) – 2
– Red chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
– Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
– Celery – 1/2 tsp
– Coriander leaves (finely chopped) – 2 tablespoons
– Baking soda – 1 pinch (optional)
– Salt – as per taste
– Water – as required
– Oil – for frying

To make raw banana pakoda, first wash the raw banana and boil it in a pressure cooker for 2 whistles. After it cools down, peel it and cut it into thick slices. In a vessel, add gram flour, rice flour, ginger-garlic paste, green chilli, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, celery, and salt. Add baking soda (optional) and coriander leaves to it.

Prepare thick and smooth batter by adding water. Take chopped raw banana and dip it well in the batter. There should be an even layer of batter on the banana slices. Heat oil in a pan. Drop the batter covered banana slices into the hot oil. Fry the pakodas on medium flame until they become golden and crisp. Remove the fried pakodas on tissue paper. Serve hot raw banana pakodas with green chutney, tomato sauce, or tamarind chutney.
