DAZN has announced a star-studded line-up for the Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk heavyweight rematch, with Kate Scott leading the punditry team. Ade Oladipo will also be hosting the highly anticipated event alongside Scott.

Barry Jones and Darren Barker will offer expert analysis, while the iconic voice of boxing, Adam Smith, will serve as the lead commentator on Saturday night. However, many viewers are particularly excited to see Scott at the centre of the coverage.

The 43 year old has been the face of CBS Sports' football coverage and has hosted the UEFA Champions League Today show since 2020, sharing the screen with football legends such as Micah Richards, Thierry Henry, and Jamie Carragher. Scott's rise in the media industry has been refreshing.

Although she is primarily known for her role in football media, Scott is also a keen boxing enthusiast and has hosted several major events over the past few years. Here, we examine the rising star...

Background and rising net worth.

Kate Scott - formerly Abdo - was born and raised in Manchester and is best known for her work in the States. She attended Christ the King School and Withington Girls' School before moving to Spain at 17 to learn Spanish and complete her high school diploma.

Scott, originally from Manchester, returned home to earn a degree in European languages from the University of Salford, and also studied translation and interpreting at the University of Malaga. Despite initial challenges breaking into the media industry, her rise to the top has been remarkable.

Starting as an intern at Deutsche Welle in 2005, she quickly made a name for herself as a production assistant for Goal! She then presented sports coverage for Deutsche Welle's English and German channels until 2009. Subsequently, she moved to Sky Sports News in Germany, where she became the lead anchor before returning to England to join Sky Sports, hosting boxing events on PPV, European football, and Sky Sports News.

Scott then made a significant career move to America to anchor Champions League and Europa League coverage, as well as Fox's Premier Boxing Champions series. By 2020, the 43 year old had become the face of CBS Sports' UEFA Champions League Today show. Reports suggest that her successful media career has earned her a staggering net worth of around £2million.

Married to a boxer

Kate recently married boxing trainer Malik Scott in an intimate ceremony in California's Malibu Hills. To celebrate, she crafted a unique cake inspired by Scott's boxing past, which he credits with 'saving his life'. Scott revealed to Genting Casino: "Kate did something incredibly creative, caring and compassionate, reflecting the walk of life I come from."

"She took an old picture of my first ABC Gym in North Philadelphia, where I was raised, the gym that essentially saved my life. She copied the ring from that gym and turned it into a cake, with me in the ring wearing the boxing trunks I had on when I fought Tony Thompson. "Those trunks had a design I borrowed from Sugar Ray Leonard when he fought Tommy Hearns the second time, but I added my own colours - pink and black with stripes. She even put herself next to me in a wedding dress.

"The thoughtfulness and creativity moved me to tears because it took me back to my childhood in that ring, where I faced many challenges, learned hard lessons, and grew. That ring always meant the world to me. She made sure to incorporate that into our wedding day, placing us both in the ring on the cake - her in a wedding dress, me in my boxing outfit. The contrast was beautiful, thoughtful and loving."

Scott, who has worked with former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in recent years, was a respected fighter in his own right. With a professional record of 38-3-1, the 44 year old announced his retirement from the sport in 2016 following a defeat to Luis Ortiz.

Despite failing to win a world title, Scott was well respected in the heavyweight division for his durability and never-say-die attitude. He later transitioned into coaching, joining forces with former rival Wilder in 2021 and has since overseen fights against Fury, Robert Helenius, Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

This is the second time in a year that Scott will have the chance to host a major pay-per-view event in the world of boxing. Last month, she was at the heart of Netflix's coverage for Jake Paul's heavyweight dust-up with Mike Tyson. The event proved to be a hit worldwide. A day after the fight, Netflix dropped the figures for the event, with 60 million households tuning in. The event hit a peak of 65 million live streams.

However, it wasn't all plain sailing after boxing fans were left furious as Netflix struggled to stream the event. The streaming giant was making its debut in live combat sports but fans were struggling to watch the undercard before the main event took place.

During the evening's broadcast, the streaming service encountered technical difficulties when boxing legend Evander Holyfield, who was in the studio alongside Lennox Lewis, struggled to hear questions from host Kate Abdo, prompting her to say: "Evander, I apologise," and "I'm so sorry about the sound. Lennox, thank you for helping us out with the interview. We appreciate you. Good to see you tonight. Good to see both of you champions with us tonight."

Misfits Boxing debut?

Meanwhile, Kate has been showcasing her boxing skills on social media, leading to speculation that she might step into the ring herself. Misfits co-founder Mams Taylor has expressed openness to featuring Kate in an event.

However, her husband Malik Scott has set a high bar for her participation, stating in an interview with JeffBet: "Twenty million dollars and I'm not familiar with any names. But I just know that will have to be the number. The number is 20 million dollars. It doesn't matter the opponent, doesn't matter the location or anything. You want to see my wife fight, you have to pay her top, top dollar."

This figure matches what Tyson reportedly received for his bout against Paul in Dallas.

When Malik was quizzed on whether we'll see Kate in the ring for a Misfits card next year, he commented: "We always talk about it. We're always training. The only thing we really struggle with is time management. And that's just creating a space of time for preparation. That's the key to the fight happening. She's interested in it, it's something that I'm interested in. Obviously, I was more interested in it with her before I fell in love with her. But when I fell in love with her, obviously I'm like, 'Oh, man, my wife is getting punched in the face,' you know. That's something else to deal with now. But coming from a competitive standpoint, I think it's very, very good. It's also a journey that we could take together."

"It's just all about the time and time management and being able to do it. But I've been in contact with Mams from Misfits for quite some time about it. They're very, very interested in it, as you all know, and in the future, we'll see. We got 2025 coming up, so we'll see what's happening. Mams is highly interested in Kate boxing, for sure. But that should really be no secret. Kate Scott, she's a big name, and she has her own big platform. It would only do nothing but make their platform bigger."

"In my opinion, she would be the biggest star to me that ever entered Misfits, she's the best sports broadcaster in the history of this business. And it'd be something that would shed light on their platform, and it definitely would shed light on our bond, on our journey together. And us doing something like that together, will raise the numbers. It'll definitely raise the stock. And that's another thing-the price will have to be right because she's taking a chance."
