Former Indian batsman Robin Uthappa is currently caught in a big controversy. The sword of arrest is hanging over him. An arrest warrant has been issued against him on an alleged fraud charge. Now Uthappa has issued clarification in this matter. The Regional PF (Provident Fund) Commissioner of Bengaluru has issued this arrest warrant against Uthappa. Uthappa is accused of not paying provident fund to the employees of his company. In this case, the former cricketer has now declared himself a victim and said that he is not associated with these companies.
On Saturday 21st December, information about the arrest warrant against Uthappa was revealed. According to this, Uthappa is the owner of a clothing company in Bengaluru. For all the employees working in this company, Rs 23.36 lakh was to be deposited in the Provident Fund, but Uthappa's company did not do so. It has been alleged that the company deducted PF money from the employees' salaries but did not deposit it. In such a situation, the Regional Commissioner issued this arrest warrant against Uthappa.
As soon as this news came out, Uthappa's reply was awaited and now the former member of Team India has issued a statement and offered clarification. Uthappa has claimed in this statement that he himself has been cheated by these companies and is taking legal action. Uthappa clarified his relationship with three companies, Strawberry Lanseria Pvt Ltd, Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Pvt Ltd and Berries Fashion House, and said he is not associated with any of them.
Uthappa told that he was made the director of these companies in 2018-19 because he had given some financial help in the form of loan to these companies. According to Uthappa, “However, I never had an active executive role in these companies nor was I involved in the day-to-day operations.” Referring to his busy schedule as a sportsperson and television expert, Uthappa said that he does not hold any role in any of the companies in which he has investments.

Describing himself as a victim of these companies, Uthappa said that till date, whatever money he had given to them as loan, these companies have not returned to him, after which he has resorted to legal action. He also claimed to have resigned from the post of director of these companies years ago.
Not only this, Uthappa also said that when the PF officials had given notice to him for payment of the employees' funds, his legal team had placed all the documents in front of the officials and made it clear that his (Uthappa's) No role in companies. Uthappa has said that even after presenting his side, the PF officials have continued to take action against him and now in such a situation, only his legal advisors will respond by taking necessary steps.
