Actually, Yusuf Pathane won the toss and gave Mumbai team a chance to bat first. Mumbai did not have a good start and lost 3 wickets at the score of just 58 in 9 overs. After this Irfan came to bat and played an important inning of 54 runs in 31 balls at a strike rate of 174. During this, he hit 6 fours and 2 sixes. Apart from him, Manpreet Gony finally scored 33 runs in 17 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 1 four, due to which Mumbai scored 172 runs in the first innings.

After batting, Irfan also did wonders with bowling in this semi-final match. He defended 16 runs in the last over. Actually, Yusuf Pathan's team made a great start by chasing 173 runs. MP Tigers touched the 50-run mark in just 3 overs. However, after this there was a flurry of wickets. First, Saket Sharma was out after scoring 34 runs in 11 balls. After this the next 4 wickets fell cheaply.
However, despite continuous fall of wickets, MP Tigers scored 156 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 19 overs. Now he had to score 17 runs in the last over. Then Irfan took the responsibility of bowling and took 1 wicket giving just 1 run. With this he led his team to victory by 15 runs. With this, Mumbai has entered the finals. Now its final match will be played on Sunday 22nd December.
