The Parksite police has arrested three people for allegedly killing a 42-year-old man following a dispute over a parking space in Vikhroli (West).
The deceased has been identified as Kitabulla Rafiqulla Shaikh, a transport operator.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Friday at 9.30pm near Parksite Station, a shop on the road leading from Islampura Noorani Masjid, during an altercation between Shaikh and three men regarding the parking of one of his tempos. A verbal argument escalated into a violent clash, during which the accused reportedly attacked Shaikh with iron pipes and an iron table, causing fatal injuries. Shaikh was rushed to Mahatma Phule Hospital in Vikhroli (East), where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The police have registered an FIR against Mohammad Tariq Andani (34), Furkan Ahmad Khan (19) and Jeeshan Ahmad Khan (21). They were arrested on Friday night.
Tariq works on a ship, while Jeeshan and Furkan are involved in the fabrication business. Shaikh was a resident of Surya Nagar, located near the Parksite police station.
