MDH, one of the biggest spice companies in the country, has made a plan to enrich the farmers growing fenugreek leaves and cumin seeds. The company has made such an announcement, which will significantly increase the income of farmers. In fact, the company has announced that if any farmer produces fenugreek leaves and cumin seeds without pesticides, then it will buy the produce from the farmers at a price higher than the market rate. Let us also tell you where the company made such an announcement and what is their complete plan?
MDH has started the campaign 'Grow pure soil, feed pure soil' in my village. Under this campaign, company officials had reached Nagaur in Rajasthan. Suresh Rathi of MDH family made many announcements for the farmers of the country on this occasion. He said that MDH will give additional price above the market price to those farmers whose produce will be as per the standards set by the foreign market and the country's market and in which no pesticides will be found.
Suresh Rathi told that MDH Group will purchase IPM quality cumin at 15 percent higher price than normal cumin and fenugreek leaf at 20 percent higher price than the market price. Along with this, Rathi said that IPM Group Chairman Rajiv Gulati wishes that the facility of pesticide testing at the time of crop purchase should be available in Nagaur itself, for which necessary cooperation will be taken from Rajasthan Government, District Administration, and ICAR in setting up the lab. Appeal was made.
Chairman of Rajasthan Farmers Commission and former MP CR Chaudhary said that MDH's awareness campaign has to be made a campaign of public awareness, so that every farmer of the country becomes aware and the common people get healthy food. Nagaur District Magistrate Arun Kumar Purohit assured that the administration is ready to provide all possible help for the pesticide lab test. Arun Kumar told that Kasuri Methi of Nagaur is known all over the world for its fragrance, color and taste.
The total export of spices from India in the year 2023-24 has been worth 4.46 billion dollars, which shows that if the spice industry and the government together educate farmers about pesticides, then the Indian spice business can be worth 20 billion dollars by 2030. That means there will be a 5 times increase in 5 years. Cumin, red chilli, coriander, fenugreek seeds and fenugreek leaves are the best crops in Rajasthan. The farmer also wants his products to be sold at a fair price in foreign markets.
