Highlighting its impact, Higher Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay said that higher education reforms will improve the image of Uttar Pradesh on both national and international platforms.
Yogendra Upadhyay said that the establishment of new universities and overseas campuses will give students the opportunity to receive world-class education in their home state. They will no longer need to go out of the state, as high-quality education will now be affordable and easily available. He said that till now only institutions registered in Uttar Pradesh could set up universities within the state. However, the new bill will open the doors for institutions, companies, and trusts registered in other states to open private universities in Uttar Pradesh. He said that foreign universities recognized by the UGC will also be eligible to set up campuses in the state.
