In view of the appointment to the dismissal of Pooja Khedkar, major changes have also been made in the process of appointment in government jobs.

UPSC, SSC, and RRB made Aadhaar verification mandatory

The year 2024 is about to pass. In the year 2024, trainee IAS Pooja Khedkar of Maharashtra cadre was in the news a lot. She was dismissed by the Union Public Service Commission for getting a job on the basis of fake medical and caste certificates. When such a case came to light, a big change was made in the process of central government jobs.

UPSC made the Aadhaar card mandatory

Learning from the Pooja Khedkar case, UPSC made the Aadhaar verification of candidates mandatory in all its recruitments. Now the application of any candidate will not be accepted without Aadhaar verification. Earlier, Aadhaar verification was not mandatory in the recruitment of the commission.

SSC and Railway Recruitment Board also implemented the rule

After UPSC, many state commissions have also made many changes in the recruitment process. Staff Selection Commission and Railway Recruitment Board also issued a notice making Aadhaar verification of candidates mandatory in all recruitments.

This is how Pooja came into the limelight.

Before becoming an IAS, Khedkar was the Assistant Director of Sports Authority of India in November 2021. Then she passed the UPSC Civil Services Examination and was selected for IAS. It was still her IAS training period that she started making headlines due to her antics. She installed a red light on her personal vehicle. Not only this, when she was posted in the Pune district of Maharashtra, she also occupied the chamber of Additional Collector Ajay More without permission.

RTI activists had called Pooja's appointment suspicious

On coming into the limelight, RTI activist Vijay Kumbhar claimed that Pooja Khedkar's appointment itself is suspicious, she does not fall in the category of OBC non-creamy layer. The certificate given by her is also fake. Khedkar has even given a fake Divyang certificate. When investigated, both the certificates were found to be fake.
