Bollywood often revolves around hits and flops. Not every movie become a success and over the years the industry has seen significant changes. Following pandemic many films struggled at the box office and also the rise of South cinema left a noticeable impact on Bollywood. However one thing remains constant- once a star always a star. This brings us to an actress who despite facing a series of flops has worked with Bollywoods biggest names and continues to maintains her star status. We are talking about none other than Parineeti Chopra.
In 2011 Parineeti Chopra made an impressive debut with romantic-comedy film Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and also won the Filmfare award for the best actress. Her second release was action romantic drama Ishaqzaade in 2012 alongside Arjun Kapoor. The film was a blockbuster and Chopra received a special mention at Filmfare awards. Her other two films Shuddh Desi Romance in 2013 and Hasee Toh Phasee in 2014 were also commercially successful.

But then there came a downfall in Parineetis career where she starred in series of 9 flops including Daawat-e-Ishq (2014) Kill Dil (2014) Meri Pyaari Bindu (2017) Namaste England (2018) Jabariya Jodi (2019) Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar (2021) Saina (2021) Code Name: Tiranga (2022) and Mission Raniganj (2023). However in 2024 she made a comeback with Imtiaz Alis directorial Chamkila alongside Diljit Dosanjh. The Netflix-starrer received tremendous response from the audience and critics. Parineeti was widely praised for her performance and her chemistry with Diljit Dosanjh was much appreciated.
In fact in an interview Parineeti revealed that she was impressed with Chamkilas script so much that she rejected Sandeep Vanga Reddys Animal (2023) starring Ranbir Kapoor Bobby Deol and Rashmika Mandanna. The actress was offered Rashmikas role in the film but she turned it down due to scheduling conflict with her film Chamkila. However Animal went on to become a massive hit grossing 900 crores globally. Parineeti has no regrets as the decision led her to find love with her then-partner Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Member of Parliament Raghav Chadha
In an show called called Aap Ki Adalat Parineeti referred to that time period when she and Raghav used to meet during the shooting of Chamkila. Their romantic connection turned into something much deeper and the couple got married on September 24 last year in a private ceremony at The Leela Palace Udaipur.
