Pushpa 2 has dominated the box office since its release making headlines by grossing Rs 1000 crore worldwide within just a week. However the film is now facing tough competition from another release that hit the big screen on December 20 2024. The movie in question is UI. While Allu Arjuns film struggled to retain audiences in Kerala UI turned out to be a major hit in the region. The film has surpassed the 17-day collection of Pushpa 2 in just two days. Remarkably within this short span UI has earned twice as much as Pushpa 2s 17-day earnings becoming a hot topic of discussion. According to initial figures from industry tracker Sacnilk UI opened with Rs 6.95 crore in Kannada Rs 65 lakh in Telugu Rs 4 lakh in Tamil and Rs 1 lakh in Hindi. On day 2 the film collected Rs 13.90 crore clearly outperforming Allu Arjuns Pushpa 2 in the Kannada market. Sukumars massy action thriller failed to generate even Rs 15 crore in the region. UI is a 2024 Indian Kannada-language science fiction dystopian action film written and directed by actor Upendra. The movie features Reshma Nanaiah Nidhi Subbaiah Sadhu Kokila Murali Krishna Murali Sharma and Indrajit Lankesh in lead roles. Since its release the film has received mixed reviews. Interestingly its box office earnings are lower than the Rs 10 crore opening collection of Upendras previous film Kabza. Coming back to Allu Arjuns film Pushpa 2 has crossed Rs 1000 crore both in India and globally. The movie features Allu Arjun Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil in key roles. Released on December 5 it was one of the most anticipated films of the year. Undoubtedly the movie has lived up to the audience expectations.
