New Delhi: Popular Telugu actor Allu Arjuns house was vandalised allegedly by Osmania University students in Hyderabad on Sunday evening December 22. The attackers demanded that the victim’s family be given Rs 1 crore compensation.
The police have arrested eight people in connection with the case.
These people were trying to forcibly enter the actors house demanding a compensation of Rs 1 crore to the family of the woman who was killed in the stampede at Sandhya theatre during the premiere of Pushpa-2.
Shortly before this incident Allu Arjun had posted on social media: I appeal to all my fans to express their feelings responsibly as always. Do not use any kind of abusive language online and offline nor misbehave with anyone.”
The actor has already announced that he will donate Rs 25 lakh to the family of the deceased. At the same time the injured are also being treated at his own expense.
The attackers reportedly attacked the property and destroyed the flower pots in the premises. Tomatoes were hurled at Arjun’s house. Early reports suggest that members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU JAC) might have been involved though police are conducting investigations.
According to the eyewitnesses the group carried placards and chanted Justice must be done before throwing tomatoes and stones at the property. Hyderabad police arrived at the scene after receiving a tip-off and detained a few people.
