New Delhi: To pay respects and offer his condolences to the family of the deceased, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will go to the hamlet of Sirsa, the old home of Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, today. On December 20, Indian National Lok Dal Chief Om Prakash Chautala died at home in Gurugram.
On Saturday, his last ceremonies were held at the Tejakhera farmhouse with full state honor.
In addition to calling INLD leader Prakash Chautala a visionary leader, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said that Chautala would always be recognized for his contributions to the state’s politics.
“I express my deep condolences on the demise of senior leader Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala ji,” CM Saini stated in his tribute. His passing marks the end of a chapter in Haryana politics. We shall never forget his contribution to Haryana politics. The character of Chautala ji was a representation of hardship and simplicity.
Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, emphasized the important contribution the INLD leader had made to the nation and Haryana.
“It is sorry to learn of the passing of Chaudhary Om Prakash Chautala, a veteran statesman and former Haryana Chief Minister. In his X post, he said, “He made a significant contribution to the service of Haryana and the country.”
Bhupinder Singh Hooda, a prominent Congress politician and former Haryana chief minister, described Chautala’s time as chief minister while serving as the Assembly’s LoP, calling him an “older brother.”
“I was the LoP when Om Prakash ji was the CM.We got along well. He provided services to others.He continued to be active. He didn’t seem like he would be leaving us so quickly.Hooda told reporters, “He was a good man, like an older brother to me.”
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, expressed his sorrow at the passing of Prakash Chautala, the former chief minister of Haryana.
The Congress MP expressed his condolences in a post on X, writing, “I was very grieved to learn of the passing of former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala ji. I offer my sincere sympathies to his family and friends as well as my little homage to him.
