UGC NET Exam Date: The date of the UGC NET 2024 exam is clashing with the main day of the Pongal festival this time. Regarding this, DMK MP Kanimozhi has written a letter to the Union Education Minister urging immediate changes in the UGC NET exam date sheet, which is scheduled on Pongal Day on January 15 and 16. Such negligence is becoming a pattern, as recently we had to struggle with the change in the datasheet, while CA exams were also scheduled on Pongal day.
MP Kanimozhi further said that I strongly condemn this appalling decision of the BJP-led central government, as it shows complete insensitivity towards the sentiments of Tamil Nadu. This is not the first time such negligence has come to the fore. This development not only reflects administrative negligence but also exposes the insensitivity of the central government towards Tamil Nadu and its culture.
The MP further said that Pongal is not just a festival; it is a celebration of Tamil pride and identity. This is not just negligence - it is a deliberate insult to our cultural heritage. Once again the Central Government has exposed its utter disregard for our state and its people. I demand the immediate rescheduling of the exam to respect the cultural values of Tamil Nadu and ensure that no student is forced to choose between their education and their tradition.
