Before the left-arm troika of Ayushi Shukla, Sonam Yadav, and Parunika Sisodia tangled webs around the batters of Bangladesh, opener G Trisha hit a doughty fifty. India won the first Women’s T20 U-19 Asia Cup here on Sunday by a score of 41 runs.
The output is:Trisha led India to 117-7 on a spongy wicket with a 47-ball 52 (5×4, 2×6), but Indian spinners sliced through the Bangladeshi lineup and dismissed them for 76 in 18.3 overs.
Trisha and her captain, Nikki Prasad, produced the game’s largest partnership, scoring 41 runs together for the fourth wicket. Indian batsmen had trouble facing Farjana Easmin, a pacer who claimed four wickets. Even so, Bangladesh seemed to be headed for victory after reaching 44-2 in the seventh over, and India was held to a below-average total. However, Bangladesh lost the last eight wickets for only 32 runs after that, as Ayushi (3–17), Sonam (2–13), and Parunika (2–12) took control.
