An confrontation with Uttar Pradesh and Punjab Police in the Puranpur region of Pilibhit district early Monday resulted in the deaths of three notorious Khalistani terrorists.
Amitabh Yash, ADG (Law and Order), attested to the three Khalistani terrorists’ deaths during the conflict. According to reports, the terrorists recently threw a grenade at the Gurdaspur police station.
Police claim that the three terrorists were members of the Khalistan Commando Force. Two handguns and two AK-47s were found at the location.
This action was done by a combined Punjab and Uttar Pradesh police force, and the encounter happened on Monday morning at approximately five in the morning along the Hardoi Branch Canal in the Puranpur district.
Pratap Singh, 23, of Shahnoor Khurd Kalanaur in Gurdaspur; Virender Singh, 23, of the Aishban police station in Kalanaur; and Gurvinder Singh, 20, of Budhipur Kalanaur, Gurdaspur, were the terrorists who were slain. The three were sought in connection with an assault on a police station in Punjab’s Gurdaspur city.
The incident also resulted in the injuries of two UP police constables. Mohammad Shahnawaz of the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Constable Sumit Rathi of Police Station Madhotanda have been taken to the hospital for medical attention.
The event was being investigated by senior police personnel.
