In Hinduism, every month’s Ekadashi date holds special significance. This day is dedicated to the worship of Lord Vishnu, the protector of the universe. According to religious beliefs, observing a fast and performing rituals on Ekadashi brings blessings of prosperity and happiness, and it also helps in the removal of all sorrows, suffering, and sins. The Ekadashi falling in the Krishna Paksha of the month of Paush is known as Saphala Ekadashi. According to the Drik Panchang, the Saphala Ekadashi fast will be observed on 26th December. It is believed that this fast is kept to ensure the success of any undertaking. It is said that performing a sincere worship of Lord Vishnu on this day and fasting can bring more auspicious results than 5000 years of penance.

Saphala Ekadashi 2024: How to Worship Lord Vishnu?
  • Wake up early in the morning on Saphala Ekadashi.
  • After bathing, wear clean clothes.
  • Remember Lord Vishnu and take a vow to observe the fast.
  • Now, perform the worship of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi according to the proper rituals.
  • Spread a yellow cloth on a small platform and place the idols of Lakshmi-Narayan.
  • Offer fruits, flowers, lamps, and food to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi.
  • Offer tulsi leaves and Panchamrit to Lord Vishnu and light a ghee lamp in front of them.
  • Recite Vishnu Sahasranama and the Ekadashi Vrat Katha. Chant the seed mantras of Lord Vishnu.
  • Finally, perform the aarti of Lord Vishnu and also the aarti of all deities.
  • During the worship, seek forgiveness for any mistakes, whether knowingly or unknowingly, and then conclude the prayer.
  • The next day, on the Dwadasi date, perform the final rituals and break the fast.

  • Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya
  • Om Hreem Shreem Lakshmi Vasudevaya Namah
  • Om Namo Narayanaya
