There's potential for sorrow among fans of Call the Midwife as a key character might face heartbreak. On Monday's , Laura Main, known for her role as Shelagh Turner on the programme, hinted at upcoming drama.
During her chat with the show hosts, Laura teased a tense finale but kept details under wraps, commenting: "I would say the cliffhanger. Obviously, you're going to have the stories of the episodes, so that will have to continue."
She continued hinting at turmoil involving a cherished character: "There is, it's involving a much-loved member of the community, the cliffhanger, that's all I'm going to say! I don't think it's going to ruin your . I think you will want to keep watching!"
Laura reassured the Loose Women panel that despite the anticipation, the holiday special retains its festive sparkle, adding: "It's still got the rousing finish, we've got the Salvation Army band, we've got fun fair, we've got all sorts of things."

The much-anticipated Christmas special will see Judy Parfitt return as Sister Monica Joan, Jenny Agutter as Sister Julienne, Helen George as Trixie Aylward, and Cliff Parisi as Fred Buckle.
