Muzaffarnagar: A woman allegedly chopped off her boyfriend's private part after his marriage was “arranged” with someone else in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred at a hotel, where she called the victim to meet her, and while they were intimate, the woman attacked the man with a sharp object, leaving both of them injured. Upon receiving information, the police rushed to the scene and admitted the injured couple to the hospital in a bloodied state. However, due to critical condition, the injured man was referred to Meerut for further treatment.
The couple, Ehtesham alias Bablu and Hina, had been in a relationship for eight years. However, Bablu reportedly decided to marry someone else in an arranged marriage setup, enraging his girlfriend. Hina then called him to a hotel dutifully and allegedly committed the crime.
His marriage was fixed with a girl from Sival Khas, a village in Meerut, to whom he got engaged 15 days ago, angering Hina. On Sunday, Hina lured the victim to meet her at a hotel in the Civil Lines area of Muzaffarnagar. During their meeting, the two argued about his marriage, which led Hina to allegedly 'chop off' his private part. Both Bablu and Hina sustained injuries and were taken to the hospital.
City CO Vyom Bindal stated, “We received information at the Civil Lines police station about a dispute between a man and a woman. The woman reportedly cut the man’s private parts and sustained injuries to her hand. Police immediately reached the scene and brought both to the hospital."
According to the preliminary investigation, it was revealed that both had been in a relationship for a long time, Bindal added.
"The woman claimed that the man had fixed his marriage elsewhere, which deeply angered her. Today, they planned to meet, during which the woman attacked the man with a sharp object. She also claimed that she tried to harm herself, but the man intervened, causing her injuries," Bindal said.
However, both the victim and the accused gave conflicting accounts, claiming two different locations of the alleged crime. The woman claims it took place at a hotel, while the man alleged it happened inside a car. The exact location and sequence of events are under investigation.
"A detailed investigation is underway to determine who initiated the attack and where," Bindal stated.
