Free Bedroll
Free bedrolls are provided to passengers for sleeping in AC 1, AC 2 and AC 3 coaches of Indian Railways. It includes a blanket, pillow, two bedsheets and a towel. However, in Garib Rath Express, people have to pay Rs 25 for bedroll. Apart from this, in some trains, passengers can also get bedroll in sleeper class by paying additional charges on their demand.
Free medical checkup
If you fall ill while travelling by train, the railway provides you first aid for free and if the condition is serious, then it also arranges for further treatment. For medical facilities, passengers can contact railway employees, ticket collectors, station superintendents etc.
Free food
If you are travelling by premium trains like Rajdhani, Duronto and Shatabdi and your train is delayed by more than 2 hours, then IRCTC provides you with free food.
Free waiting room
At the railway station, passengers often sit on the platform and sometimes wait for the train for hours. But, waiting rooms are available for passengers at the station. You can wait comfortably in the AC or non-AC waiting hall at the station. For this, you have to show your train ticket.
Cloakrooms and locker rooms are also available at major stations of Indian Railways, where passengers can store their luggage in a proper manner. However, a prescribed fee has to be paid to avail of this facility.
