On Tuesday, actor Allu Arjun arrived at the Chikkadpally police station in Hyderabad to be questioned over the sad event that took place at the December 4 premiere of his film Pushpa 2.
To ‘cooperate’ in the inquiry, the actor was requested to show up at the Chikkadpally Police Station today.
“The case is under investigation and your presence is quite essential before the undersigned officer to elicit answers from you about the incident and if necessary for visiting scene of offence, in order to ascertain the true facts,” the Telangana Police notification said.
Allu Arjun went to the premiere of “Pushpa 2: The Rule” on December 4, which was a terrible occurrence.
When he waved to admirers from his car’s sunroof, the situation became heated as a huge throng gathered to watch him. Sri Tej, the mother’s kid, was hurt, and Revathi was slain.
Allu Arjun was detained following the incident and subsequently freed on bail after posting a surety of Rs 50,000.
In response to recent demonstrations calling for justice for the slain lady, security has also been increased outside the actor’s home.
Kancherla Chandrashekhar Reddy, Allu Arjun’s father-in-law, was seen at the actor’s house earlier in the day. Afterwards, the star was seen leaving his house.
On December 22, a group of individuals wanting justice for the murder of a lady named Revathi in the Sandhya Theatre tragedy invaded the Pushpa actor’s home.
DCP West Zone, Hyderabad, claims that the mob, brandishing banners and yelling slogans, unexpectedly showed up to Allu Arjun’s house.
Security personnel had to step in when one of them scaled the compound wall and began hurling stones. The protesters attacked the security guards and destroyed flower pots near the ramp during the ensuing conflict.
Six people were arrested after claiming to be members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC). Later, they were given bail.
Earlier, at KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad, in front of Telangana Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Pushpa 2 producers Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar gave the victim woman’s family a check for Rs 50 lakh. Sri Tej’s father, Revathi’s husband, who is receiving medical care, accepted the check.
Political turmoil has also been triggered by the tragedy. In the Assembly, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy accused Allu Arjun of being responsible for the disaster, claiming that police had refused permission for any event to take place at Sandhya Theatre because of safety concerns.
The actor, however, denied any wrongdoing, calling the accusations “character assassination.”
