The maximum speed limit for drivers in Delhi will soon be fixed at 50 kilometers per hour. The traffic police has taken this decision so that road accidents can be prevented. These days, most of the accident cases are happening due to over speeding.
According to the traffic police, this new speed limit rule will prevent road accidents. There are three areas in Delhi where vehicles are seen running at high speed. Due to which more accidents are seen there. These also include outer areas like Narela and Alipur. To prevent these accidents, the traffic police is issuing a circular in which it has been decided to increase the speed limit of vehicles to 50 kilometers per hour.
In December and January, visibility reduces due to fog on the Ring Road, Outer Ring Road and other open areas. In such a situation, the police will keep an eye on the speeding vehicles with laser guns. This gun can easily detect high speed vehicles. In this circular, instructions have been given to all traffic inspectors to identify the locations in their area where there are more road accidents. Laser gun can help in stopping over speeding.
The challan for over speeding can range from Rs 2000 for small vehicles to Rs 4000 for heavy vehicles. If you want to avoid fines and road accidents, then keep the speed limit in mind on the road.
