You must have seen many e-rickshaws running on the road, but have you ever wondered who made the first e-rickshaw? There was a time when only hand and foot rickshaws were seen on the roads, but now along with foot rickshaws, e-rickshaws are also seen carrying passengers on the roads. Let us know who was the one who came up with the innovative idea of making an e-rickshaw?
With the advent of e-rickshaw, people's life has become easier because this rickshaw runs on the road without any noise and pollution. Vedanta Group head Anil Aggarwal had shared the story of the person who first designed the e-rickshaw. Anil Aggarwal told that the first e-rickshaw was made by Dr. Anil Rajvanshi.
Dr. Anil Rajvanshi started the work of manufacturing electric rickshaw in 1995 in Phaltan, Maharashtra. Five years later, in 2000, the first prototype of e-rickshaw was ready. As soon as the prototype of e-rickshaw was revealed to the world, many people copied it and many people improved it.
Anil Rajvanshi has been a student of IIT Kanpur, after which he completed his further studies from Florida, America. He returned to India in 1981. Dr. Rajvanshi has a total of 7 patents in his name and has also been honored with Padma Shri by the Government of India.
His father considered his decision to return to India foolish but his wife became his strength. Dr. Rajvanshi was greatly influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, after returning to India, he made many inventions like e-rickshaw and stove that works on alcohol.
