India's top fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has made an impressive feat in the ICC Men's Test Bowling Rankings, gaining 904 rating points. The feat equals the record of the highest rating achieved by an Indian player, which was previously held by spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. According to the ICC, Bumrah now has an opportunity to overcome this during the upcoming Melbourne Test. Meanwhile, Travis Head's remarkable performances have taken him closer to the top three in the ICC men's Test batting rankings. Apart from these individual achievements, there have been several other notable changes in the men's rankings, influenced by recent matches across various formats.
Bumrah consolidated his top spot in the Test bowling rankings after a stellar performance in Brisbane, where he earned 14 rating points for his performance of 9/94. South Africa's Kagiso Rabada and Australia's Josh Hazlewood are at second and third place respectively. Travis Head's brilliant 152-run innings at the Gabba and his century in Adelaide have taken him to fourth position with 825 points. Steve Smith's century in the third Test also brought him back into the top ten. Additionally, KL Rahul's stellar performance in India's first innings saw him move up ten places to 40th.
In the all-rounder category, Australia's Pat Cummins regained his place in the top 10 after taking four wickets and scoring 42 runs in the third Test against India. Travis Head's all-round contribution also saw him move up nine places to 29th. In the men's ODI batting rankings, Heinrich Klaasen's consecutive half-centuries against Pakistan saw him move from 13th to fifth position with 743 points. Sam Ayub's two centuries in the same series gave him a significant jump, taking him from 70th to joint 23rd with 603 points.
On the basis of his bowling, Ayub climbed 113 places in the list of all-rounders and reached joint 42nd position. Azmatullah Omarzai's performance for Afghanistan in the ODI series against Zimbabwe, where he took six wickets, saw him move up 43 places to 58th in the ODI bowling rankings. His all-round abilities took him up five places to third place in the all-rounders' list. Mahedi Hasan and Roston Chase made significant gains in the men's T20I bowling rankings.
Hasan has moved up 13 places to 10th, while Chase has moved up 11 places to 13th after his impressive performances in the T20I series in the West Indies. Bangladesh ended their multi-format tour of the Caribbean on a high note, with other players like Rishad Hossain and Hasan Mahmood also making substantial progress in the rankings.
