Kolkata: Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar accused Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders of corruption, claiming that all TMC politicians were involved in it. Union Minister Majumdar compared the TMC leaders’ ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Corruption’ resolve to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas.’
The Union Minister continued to attack, claiming that whereas TMC leaders’ resolve is “Sabka Sath, Sabka Corruption,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolution is “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas.”
“Every TMC leader engages in corruption,” Sukanta Majumdar stated in an interview with ANI on Wednesday. The TMC leaders argue that “Sabka Sath, Sabka Corruption” contradicts PM Narendra Modi’s assertion of “Sabka Sath Sabka Vikas.” The corruption of TMC leaders has been ingrained in the minds of the general public.
In response to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s comments on the ‘One Nation, One Election’ Bill earlier on December 22, Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said that the proposed changes will save the nation money.
But Majumdar said that Banerjee would be against the plan only because it would benefit the country.
Speaking to ANI, Majumdar emphasized that there is debate and that all members of the opposition have the right to speak in a democracy.
There was debate in every state, and although several states claim to support it, Mamata Banerjee said that she opposes it. It has now been sent to the JPC, where individuals from all parties are participating. They will provide their recommendations, which the government will take into consideration before it is put into effect. “This will save money and benefit the country, but Mamata Banerjee will not support it because it benefits the country,” he remarked.
CM Mamata said in a post on X that the measure is an “authoritarian imposition” rather than a “carefully considered reform.”
“By disregarding all valid concerns expressed by experts and opposition leaders, the Union Cabinet has pushed through the anti-federal and unconstitutional One Nation, One Election Bill. “This is an authoritarian imposition intended to weaken India’s democracy and federal structure; it is not a well-thought-out reform,” she added.”This harsh law will be fiercely opposed in Parliament by our Members of Parliament. Bengal would never submit to the autocratic demands of Delhi. The goal of this battle is to protect India’s democracy against autocratic rule. Banerjee Mamata added.
