Consistently inconsistent has just about been how you could sum up so far this season. has suffered with injuries throughout the campaign so far, with Spurs' squad depth in comparison to the other teams at the top of the table called into question.
have signed a number of teenagers in the last few transfer windows - Archie Gray, Wilson Odobert, Lucas Bergvall and the soon-to-arrive Yang Min-hyeok among them. And much has been expected of them already.
But with injuries to goalkeeper , centre-backs , and Ben Davies, forwards Odobert and , as well as a lengthy seven-match FA ban for Rodrigo Bentancur, and things have not exactly gone to plan off the pitch.

Postecoglou has openly admitted to needing reinforcements in the front line, if not in then in the summer transfer window of 2025. Speaking at the beginning of December he said: "There’s no doubt we need some bolstering in that front third over the next couple of transfer windows."
Another goalkeeper is required too, given the injury to Vicario and the over-reliance on 36-year-old Fraser Forster since then. Forster has impressed since taking the jersey, but at his age he needs replacing sooner rather than later.
The injuries at centre-back prove reinforcements are still required in that area too. There are a few players who could do with being moved on too, so what does Tottenham's perfect squad look like once the January transfer window closes?
In goal you've got to look at someone like Mike Maignan from AC Milan. His contract at the San Siro expires in 2026 and this could be one of the last opportunities for Milan to get a good price for him. He would certainly offer Vicario huge competition for his place and at 29 years old he has plenty of time on his side.
In defence, Spurs have been linked with a number of players in the past - Edmond Tapsoba, Illia Zabarnyi, Alessandro Bastoni, Jarrad Branthwaite and Murillo to name but a few.
Eighteen-year-old Jorrel Hato would keep with Spurs' philosophy of signing young players with huge potential, while Murillo would be a similarly price alternative in that position.
Moving forward, things look more difficult. Forwards, and good ones at that, cost big money. Just look at the £65million Spurs had to splash out on Dominic Solanke in the summer.
Evan Ferguson has been linked with a loan move away from Brighton, having failed to tie down a regular place in Fabian Hurzeler's first team this season and the teenager could be a brilliant stop-gap signing for Spurs. Then there's Jonathan David, at Lille. He is Ligue Un's top scorer and the 24-year-old is out of contract in France next summer. A pre-contract agreement over a free summer transfer would be an excellent piece of business to conclude in January.
Looking at exits, Sergio Reguilon needs to move on, while Timo Werner, even though he was criticised by Postecoglou, is unlikely to cut his loan move short halfway through the season, given Spurs' lack of depth, unless other new signings do come in.
