Azamgarh: SP MP Dharmendra Yadav called for an apology and said that the “insult” would not be accepted amid the controversy over Union Home Minister Amit Shah‘s comment on BR Ambedkar.
Dharmendra Yadav told the media report on Wednesday that the “disrespect” of Babasaheb Ambedkar is today the country’s greatest problem.
“The Union HM Amit Shah’s disdain for Babasaheb Ambedkar is now the worst problem facing the country. The opposition calls for the Union HM to issue an apology. Yadav said that Babasaheb Ambedkar’s insult would never be accepted.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar made fun of the BJP on Wednesday, saying that they don’t know enough about India’s history of freedom or the significance of leaders like Dr. BR Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi.
“The history of independence is unknown to them (the BJP). They are unaware of the significance of Dr. BR Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi. “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhaan” would be the theme of the rally on December 27, Shivakumar said before the Belagavi CWC meeting on December 26.
This follows the Congress party’s continuous demonstrations against Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s comments on Dr. Ambedkar. Shah’s contentious comment has prompted the Congress to seek his resignation; in response, the party has asked for a number of measures to demonstrate its dedication to Ambedkar’s principles.
According to reports, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in the Rajya Sabha, “They would have secured heaven for seven lives if they (the Opposition) had taken the name of God as many times as they take Ambedkar’s name.”
Following Shah’s comments, the opposition and Treasury benches staged simultaneous rallies outside the house last week, which resulted in a heated altercation between the two parties that injured BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput.
On the grounds of Parliament, the ruling BJP MPs were demonstrating against the Congress party for allegedly “insulting” Babasaheb Ambedkar. MPs from the INDIA group, headed by Rahul Gandhi, protested in Parliament and called for Shah’s resignation due to his comments on Ambedkar.
Members of both parties have claimed to have been pushed about. In addition, the Delhi police have filed a formal complaint (FIR) against Rahul Gandhi in connection with the event.
