From the bustling streets of Chandigarh to mouthwatering local food dishes, Celebrity Chef Sarah Todd recently explored the hidden spots and rich culinary landscape in the city. Todd’s regular food scenes always keep her fans on their toes but this time her food exploration not only grabbed eyeballs but made people drool by just looking at the screen. Sarah’s recent Instagram reel was all about Chandigarh Street food dishes including chaat, dahi bhalle, spiciest kulcha and the legendary makki di roti and sarson da saag. Her series of Chandigarh food diaries started with stumbling across the most incredible spot in Chandigarh where she saw a tandoor that was set deep in the ground, glowing like a portal to another world. She mentioned in her Instagram caption, “The energy of this place was magnetic—it stopped me in my tracks. For a moment, I didn’t want to talk or even think; all I wanted was to sit, savour the incredible food, and just be in that moment.”Also Read: “A fragrant tadka came alive, sizzling as it was poured over creamy dal, filling the air with aromas that pulled me in even further. Plates of freshly prepared sabzis and perfectly steamed rice and tandoori rotis completed the experience. There’s something so powerful about finding places like this, where simplicity and tradition come together, making you pause and truly feel alive,” said Todd while savouring a delicious Punjabi thali.

Todd hopped onto the next stop and tried Sarson ka Saag, smoky Baigan ka Bharta, and buttery Makki di Roti at Old Pal Dhaba, established in 1960 in Chandigarh. According to Sarah, the meal is extra special for her. “Sarson ka Saag was one of the very first authentic dishes I learned from my son’s Bibi Gian, an incredible cook whose recipes carry so much heart and history. And the Makki di Roti? It was a first for me, and now I get why it’s a classic. It’s earthy and buttery, and it’s the perfect partner to the saag,” she mentioned in her caption. The curry was cooked perfectly and boasted a creamy texture along with mustard greens that made it unique. The saag is paired with makki di roti which Chef Sarah allegedly never tried before. Todd believes that the delicacy has a subtle sweetness with a beautiful texture. Apart from this wholesome combination, the eggplant was roasted and cooked perfectly. With a smooth and creamy texture, the Australian chef approved this eating joint for delicious food.

Next up, Sarah enjoyed the authentic Dahi Bhalla at Garg Chaat. Since she was on a hunt to explore the food scene of the city, she explored the classic Dahi Bhalla that had a crispy upgrade with perfect golden papdi. The soft bhallas paired with chutneys make for a great snacking option.

Sarah’s food series ended with trying the spiciest kulcha in Chandigarh. From trying the delicious kulcha from Brothers Kulcha Hub’s Seeti Wala Kulcha to making the most of her cravings, Todd stated that the kulcha is not for the faint-hearted individuals. Also Read: The kulcha served with chole was stuffed with green chilli paste and presented golden layers for a wholesome meal. “One bite and your taste buds are doing bhangra while your eyes demand reinforcement,” Sarah wrote in her caption. The kulcha presents a crispy exterior with a spicy interior. Through her food trail, Sarah tried diverse flavours of Chandigarh and experienced the warmth and hospitality that elevate the overall culinary scene of the city. She’s still on a hunt to explore delightful food dishes and we can’t wait to see her new food adventures.
