Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday, accusing them of poor administration during the Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela 2025.
Yadav said on social media that only nine of Prayagraj’s twenty-two pontoon bridges were safe for transportation, with the other nine being in poor condition. He further noted that the BJP had only completed 40% of the project.
Date: December 26, 2024 “Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2025: Special news report on BJP’s misgovernance mode: PDA journalist is the correspondent. News: Of the twenty-two pontoon bridges, only nine are safe for travel, and the other nine are in poor shape. Only nine of the twenty-two pontoon bridges have been made suitable for traffic following a year-long exercise, which indicates that only around 40% of the work has been finished,” the post said.
With only 20 days left until the Mahakumbh, the SP Chief also asked how the remaining bridges would be constructed and how the crows would be managed.
“Now that this massive event is only 20 days away, how will the remaining bridges be constructed, and how will crowd management and mobility be feasible? “This should be taken very seriously by the BJP government,” he said.
The Uttar Pradesh government had said that more than 5,000 special buses, including 550 electric vehicles, would help handle the enormous inflow of worshippers on the busiest days of the event.
For the millions of devotees attending the Mahakumbh, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is providing top-notch amenities. An official statement said that this involves operating almost 3,000 special fair trains and offering accommodations for more than 1 lakh people. Furthermore, Indian Railways’ tourist and hospitality division, IRCTC, has finished building Mahakumbh Gram, a posh tent city next to Triveni Sangam.
Under the direction of the Yogi administration, the Mahakumbh Mela will take place from January 10 to February 24 and will showcase the nation’s cultural variety in a colorful way.
On January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami), the major bathing festivals, sometimes referred to as “Shahi Snan” (royal baths), will take place.
The Uttar Pradesh government prepared for the Mela on December 25 and organized more than 5,000 special buses, including 550 electric cars, to help handle the enormous inflow of worshippers on the busiest days of the event.
