In this report of Anarock, it has been said that in the last one year, 6 percent less houses have been sold in Delhi, whereas in Mumbai there has been a slight increase of only 1 percent. According to Anarock, this year 4 percent less houses have been sold across the country, the reason behind this is the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. In fact, due to elections, many projects got delayed approval. Also many projects have been completed late. There has been an increase in property prices as compared to last year.
According to the Anarock report, average housing prices in seven major cities Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata are expected to increase by 21 percent in 2024 due to rising rates of land, labor and some construction raw materials.
Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) saw a marginal 1 percent growth in sales, rising to 1,55,335 units from 1,53,870 units. In Bengaluru, sales of residential properties increased by 2 per cent to 65,230 units from 63,980 units. Housing sales in Pune declined by 6 percent to 81,090 units from 86,680 units.
Hyderabad saw a 5 percent decline in sales from 61,715 units to 58,540 units, while Chennai saw an 11 percent decline from 21,630 units to 19,220 units. Housing sales in Kolkata declined by 20 percent to 18,335 units in 2024, from 23,030 units last year.
In 2024, property prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kolkata have increased by 21 percent. Last year, houses worth Rs 4.88 lakh crore were sold across the country, whereas in 2024, houses worth Rs 5.68 lakh crore have been sold.
