Upcoming biopic on rakesh maria
Sources reveal that John Abraham is set to portray the iconic Indian police officer Rakesh Maria in an upcoming biopic. The film will delve into key moments of Maria’s career including his investigations into the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts the Zaveri Bazaar explosion and the 26/11 attacks.
Rakesh Maria is considered one of Mumbai Police’s most notable figures. Spanning a career from 1981 to 2017 he played a pivotal role in solving numerous high profile terror cases and bringing criminals to justice. The film aims to showcase his unique investigative methods and his unwavering commitment to law enforcement.
John Abraham is deeply invested in the project and believes the film will be a fitting tribute to Maria’s service to the nation. Currently in the scripting phase the film is being developed as a gripping police thriller by a renowned filmmaker.
Parallel projects in the pipeline
Alongside the biopic John is gearing up for the release of two other films Tehran produced by Dinesh Vijan and Diplomat produced by Bhushan Kumar. Both are slated for release next year.
John’s involvement in the development process of the Rakesh Maria biopic reflects his dedication to portraying the celebrated officer authentically. The film will chronicle Maria’s journey from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) to Director General of Home Guards capturing his most challenging cases and his rise through the ranks.
