4 of Family Heading Towards Bengaluru Die in Car-SUV Collision; Officials Urge Installation of Caution Boards

Bengaluru: Four people of a family, including a minor, died in a road accident on Wednesday in Karnataka's Haveri district, nearly 337 Kms away from Bengaluru. The incident took place after a SUV lost control. Following that, the car collided with another vehicle, in which the victims were travelling. Two of the victims were being taken to the hospital, but they succumbed to their injuries before the arrival.While two people died on the spot, the other two were declared dead at hospital. The accident occurred under the Tadasa PS limit near Belligatti village. According to the Additional Superintendent of Police, Haveri, a white vehicle that was going towards Hubballi lost control. Then, it jumped the divider and hit a red car coming from Hubbali and going towards Bengaluru near Haveri-Dharwar border, reported the news agency ANI.

Officials Ask to Install Signboard A report by , the victims have been identified as Mahesh Kumar C, 41 Chandramma, 59, Meena, 38 and Dhanveer 11. Haveri District In-charge Minister Shivanand Patil shared his condolences on the tragic accident. The minister instructed police officials to identify accident-prone zones on the highways within the district, and to install signboards for caution to avoid such accidents in future.He asked the officials to ensure that no vehicle is parked on the roadside, which often leads to accidents. Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker and MLA from Haveri Rudrappa Lamani expressed grief over the loss of the four lives. He appealed to people to drive safely on the route, and follow to speed limits to prevent such tragedies in the future.
