Manmohan Singh had stated in the affidavit that at that time his total income was Rs 40.51 lakh. Whereas he had movable assets worth Rs 3.87 crore. Not only this, he had 5 fixed deposits and 3 savings accounts at that time. Not only this, he had immovable property worth Rs 7.5 crore at that time. This included a house in Chandigarh and a flat in Vasant Kunj, Delhi.
It was stated in the affidavit that he owned a Maruti car of 1996 model. He bought it in 1996 for about Rs 21,000. Manmohan Singh did not have any cash in hand at that time, but his wife Gursharan Kaur had Rs 20,000 in cash.
There was also mention of his wife's property in Manmohan Singh's affidavit. He had total movable assets worth Rs 20.31 lakh. It contained 150.8 grams of gold, whose price at that time was Rs 3.45 lakh. He also had Rs 16.62 lakh in his savings account.
