Workers have lodged a complaint against a BJP MLA from Gorakhpur division on the CM portal and the camp office located at Gorakhnath temple. The workers say that the MLA from Maharajganj district got them paint-polishing work done in his house for two and a half months, but when When it came to wages, the MLA refused to pay.

Instead, he threatened to implicate the workers in a false case and send them to jail. The workers say that they do not have money and are finding it difficult to support their families.

The workers told that they had gone to the MLA of Maharajganj district in search of work. The MLA asked him to work at his house, and made him work continuously from April 3 to June 17, 2024. The workers had promised to give money to the MLA at the beginning of the work, but when the work was completed, the MLA refused to give the money.

Payment not received even after completion of work

Indrajit Giri, who is one of these labourers, said that during the work, the MLA had said that no payment would be made before the work is completed, so that the work does not remain incomplete. But after the work was completed, when the workers demanded money, the MLA promised to give it later. Now the time from June to December has passed, but the wages have not been paid.

Indrajit told that his total dues are ₹ 50,500, of which his own amount is ₹ 10,000, dues of other laborers range from ₹ 7,000 to ₹ 1,500. He also said that when he goes to the MLA's house, the MLA's family avoids him and tells him to forget the money, and when he repeatedly asks, he threatens to implicate him in a false case and send him to jail.

At the same time, the MLA says that the laborer has left his work incomplete and he could not complete the work on time. The MLA said that if the workers complete the work, there will be no problem in paying them.

confusion of administrative officials

Administrative officials have also come into action on this matter, but they are confused as to what kind of action should be taken against the ruling party MLA. According to sources, some officer has asked the MLA to pay the wages of the workers, but the action in the matter has not been cleared yet.
