Thirty years since Parveen Shakir’s farewell

It has been 30 years since Parveen Shakir, the well-known poet who shared the fragrance and flowers of love in Urdu literature, left her fans.

Parveen Shakir was born on November 24, 1952 in a literary family in Karachi.She got a special reputation.

In 1976, as soon as her collection Kalam Khushbu came out, there was a stir in the literary circles and she got the title of Khushbu’s poetess.

Parveen Shakir’s other works include Sadbarg, Self-talk, Ankar, Mah Tama, Kaf Aina and Gosha Chashm. In her poetry, love, fragrance, flowers, wind and butterfly are frequently mentioned. Even after many decades, her the fragrance of poetry has not dimmed, her poetry is still felt like a fragrance.

Even today, her poetry is loved by people who have a taste for literature and they pay her a lot of respect. In recognition of her outstanding services in Urdu literature, Parveen Shakir was awarded the Presidential Medal of Excellence in 1990.

Parveen Shakir died on 26 December 1994 at the age of 42 in a car accident in Islamabad, but through her beautiful poetry, she will always remain in flourishing place urdu.
