sent a message to Liverpool fans after refusing to give up an update on contract talks with the club. The Egyptian star set another marker during , sealing the three points with a trademark low finish.
It was his 100th home goal in the Premier League, with 98 of them coming at Anfield to go with two at Stamford Bridge during his short stint at Chelsea.
But after outling his ambition to win the title this season, Salah was asked if there were any developments over his future.
Supporters however, didn't get the answer they were hoping for. "I wish fans a Happy New Year and I will see them at the next home game," he replied.
Arne Slot's side now don't play at Anfield until January 5, when they host Manchester United. By that point though, the 32-year-old would have been able to start negotiating with clubs abroad, with his Liverpool contract set to expire in June.
On his latest marker and the team, Salah was keener to talk. "It's something I'm very proud of," he said. "But we keep working hard and hopefully I can do better. The most important thing for me is the team winning.
"Hopefully we will win the Premier League and I will have a big impact in us doing that. That would be great for me. It's great (being seven points clear), really great.
"But we need to focus on each game. We need to stay humble. Last year we had a few injuries but hopefully we can carry on like this, no injuries, and go on and win it. This one is very special, it's something I dream of."
As well as his goal, Salah hit the bar with one curling effort in the first half. He was also involved in the build-up as Curtis Jones put the hosts 2-1 ahead after the break, after Cody Gakpo had cancelled out Jordan Ayew's early opener.
And Salah credited the visitors for making it difficult for the league leaders. "It's a good result," he said. "They were really tough first half, and second half...the way they prepared themselves, they were very good.
"They lined up outside their box, were very organised, and it was quite hard for us. But we managed to score three goals it's a great result. Cody scoring before half-time gave us confidence."
