Some films featuring Salman Khan are loved by his fans while others are one theyd rather forget- and its easy to see why. Even his biggest supporters would agree that some films just arent worth remembering. One of those movie came out 17 years ago. The film was rejected by Preity Zinta and eventually had an American heroine. The movie was a major box office failure earning just over 12% of its budget.
The name of Salman Khans biggest flop film is Marigold released in the year 2007. It is a romantic musical comedy about an American actress whose life changes completely when she establishes connection with India. Hollywood actress Ali Larter played the lead role in the film opposite Salman Khan.
Made on a budget of Rs 19 crore the Salman Khan-starrer earned only Rs 2.29 crore at the box office. Infact it was a failure overseas too earning just over Rs 1 crore internationally. Marigold became a disaster at box office due to various reasons. The film had such a negative impact that director Willard Carroll never made any film again. In fact it also sanked lead actress Ali Larters career and she never featured in any Bollywood film again. The massive losses incurred by Marigold make it no shocker that director left filmmaking forever.
Meanwhile Salman Khan is set to make his return with Sikandar featuring Rashmika Mandanna in a pivotal role. The film is scheduled to be released on Eid 2025. In 2024 the actor was seen in cameo roles in films like Baby John and Singham Again.
