Hyderabad: BRS MLA T Harish Rao met with Sritej, a victim of the Sandhya Theatre tragedy, during a visit to KIMS Hospital today and gave him an update on his health. “Sri Tej is recovering well and responding to medical treatment,” Rao said.
He called the Sandhya Theatre event “unfortunate” and voiced his displeasure with certain political leaders’ tardy reaction.
“The CM and minister commented on the Sandhya Theatre issue after 10 days in the assembly,” he said, alluding to the official response coming slowly.
Rao also made fun of the state administration, namely Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
He accused them of neglecting tragedies that occurred inside their own jurisdiction and asked, “Why did Revanth Reddy and his cabinet not visit the families of the children who died in Gurukuls?”
A financial assistance of Rs 2 crores has been declared for Sri Tej, the victim of the Sandhya Theatre disaster, the son of Revathi, who died in the event, and the victim’s family by Allu Aravind, film producer and father of “Pushpa 2” star Allu Arjun.
Allu Aravind told the media, “…After speaking to the doctors, we are very happy to know that the boy is recovering… and all the days he has been on a ventilator, the ventilator has been removed, and he is breathing himself, and doctors are very positive about his recovery…” after meeting the child hurt in the Sandhya Theatre incident during the premiere of “Pushpa 2.”
“After coming out, we felt we should help the youngster and his family with a total of Rs 2 crores for his future,” he said. “Allu Arjun has contributed Rs 1 crore, while the producers and director have contributed Rs 50 lakhs and Rs 50 lakhs, respectively. Dil Raju, the chairman of the Telangana Film Development Corporation, is receiving this sum.
Dil Raju met Sri Tej’s family at KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad, Hyderabad. In an interview with the media report, he said that he had previously met with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to talk about helping Sri Tej’s family, making sure that the government and film industry would provide all required support.
