According to Indian Express, during a conversation with Hotterfly, Sunita told that before marriage, she lived in a nuclear family. But after marriage with Govinda, she started living in a joint family. Sunita said, “When I married Govinda, he had a big family. I got married when I was just 18 years old. I was 19 years old when Tina was born. Even after having a child, I was still like a child. He said that Govinda had already made it clear that his mother would remain the head of the house, as long as she is alive.”

Sunita further said, “I loved my husband very much. By then I had got used to having both children Krishna and Vinay in my house. Both of them were very young at that time, and I am very fond of children. My heart was not in favor of throwing those two children out of the house. I believe that if you do good deeds, even if your children do bad, God is watching your good deeds. I love my husband very much, so I can do everything.”
Govinda's daughter Tina told how her mother came from a completely different family and after marrying her father, she completely changed herself. Tina said, “My mother used to wear hot pants, lived in Pali Hills and is from a very rich family. But my father was not financially strong, he was struggling at that time. When my grandfather came to know about their affair, he became angry. This was no less than a Bollywood story. My maternal grandfather asked my mother that she wanted to marry an aspiring actor. He was not at all happy with this and did not even attend their wedding.”
