India faced difficulties on Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne finishing at 164/5 and trailing Australia by 310 runs. A solid 102-run stand between Yashasvi Jaiswal (82) and Virat Kohli (36) was broken by a costly mix-up that led to Jaiswal being run out. Kohli followed soon after dismissed by Scott Boland who also claimed the wicket of nightwatchman Akash Deep for a duck. Earlier KL Rahul was dismissed just before Tea leaving India at 51/2.
