The rescue operation that has been going on for four days in Kotputli area of Rajasthan has now entered its final phase, in which efforts are being made to take out four-year-old girl Chetna from a 150 feet deep borewell. Till now, digging of 170 feet deep parallel borewell in the rescue has been completed and the process of reaching Chetna through L-shaped pipe has also been successfully done. The welding work of the horizontal portion of the pipe has also been completed, which will help in improving the speed of operation.
A team of rat miners experienced in the Uttarakhand tunnel accident has been deployed for this difficult task. This team has achieved success in complex rescue operations in the past also. However, the operation was interrupted several times by heavy rains, which disrupted the digging and welding work. Despite this, now the pipe is being inserted properly with the help of a 100 ton capacity crane, which has increased the speed of the operation. The 50 ton capacity crane being used earlier was sent back due to low strength.
Keeping in mind the safety of the girl, special arrangements have been made to stop rain water around the borewell. The entire site has been covered and waterproof tents have also been installed, so that rain does not affect the rescue work. Officials of NDRF, SDRF, district administration and local police are engaged in this rescue operation.
The rescue team does not have any accurate information about Chetna's condition, because it is not possible to see her condition through the camera. The girl has been trapped in the borewell for the last 100 hours, and her condition is becoming serious every moment.
In the first attempts, an attempt was made to take him out through the ring, but it was not successful. After this, it was decided to dig a pit parallel to the borewell, which is now in the final stages. The entire hope of saving the girl now rests on this operation, and the administration and the rescue team are trying their best to make it successful.
