Govinda and Sunita Ahujas daughter Tina Ahuja sparked debate online with her remarks about period cramps during an interview with Hauterrfly. Tina claimed she has never experienced period pain and added that “only Bombay girls talk about cramps.” She also suggested that women who don’t naturally experience cramps might imagine them due to psychological influence. Tina said “I’ve mostly lived in Chandigarh and rarely heard about cramps there. It’s mostly the girls in Bombay who keep talking about it. Sometimes being part of groups discussing these issues can lead people who don’t feel cramps to believe they do. In Punjab and smaller cities many women don’t even realise when menopause happens.” She further added that her body might be more “desi” as she has never faced back pain and has a regular cycle. She attributed such issues to lifestyle choices like dieting and lack of sleep advising girls to “eat ghee avoid extreme diets and get good sleep for better health.” Her mother Sunita agreed mentioning their habit of consuming a spoonful of ghee daily. However she advised viewers to consult doctors for medical concerns humorously warning against blaming her if people misinterpret their suggestions. Netizens slam Tina Ahuja A clip of their conversation was shared on Reddit titled “Period pain is not real guys! Trust Govinda’s wife and daughter.” Many Reddit users criticized their comments calling them dismissive. One person wrote “Period pain is real for many women and dismissing it is just ignorant.” Another added “This is a classic example of being proudly uninformed.”
