Part-Time Job Scam: A simple morning brought a turning point in the life of a 27 year old businessman, which shook his world. On August 16, this young man involved in the business of electrical poles received a message from a woman Ansuya on Telegram. The message lured a part-time job with only 3 hours of online work and a daily earning of Rs 4,650.
This proposal seemed like a golden opportunity for the young man. As he completed tasks, the amount in his digital wallet increased. This increasing amount was further strengthening his faith. Within a few days, another woman Abhinaya joined him. He suggested investing in a company called Mango Fashion, which promised more profits.
Trusting Abhinaya's words, he transferred an amount of Rs 58.06 lakh to 11 different bank accounts. Every time, the increasing amount of money appearing in the wallet would make him happy and motivate him to invest more. Now an amount of up to Rs 76 lakh started appearing in the wallet, which included the amount of his investments and profits.

On August 29, he contacted the cyber crime helpline and lodged a complaint. Police began investigating the matter and filed an FIR against 14 persons on December 24.
This incident teaches a bitter lesson how dangerous it can be to trust unknown platforms or messages without checking. The targets of such fraudsters are usually those people who are looking for an easy way to earn quick money.
take these precautions:
Pay attention to offers from questionable sources
If a message about a job offer or investment scheme comes from an unknown or unusual source, ignore it immediately. Genuine companies send their contact information and offers in a professional manner.
Be wary of promises of excessive profits
If a job or investment scheme promises excessive profits such as claiming to make a lot of money in a short period of time, it is usually a sign of fraud. No business or job is that easy.
Get complete information before making any payment
If you are asked to send money before any job or investment, first thoroughly investigate the concerned company or scheme. Real companies never ask you to pay money.
Check Official Website and Contact
To get any job offers or information about the company, check its official website. The information given on it reveals the reality of the company. Also, avoid contacting any suspicious phone number or email ID.
Seek information from professional networks
If you have any doubts about an offer or job, seek advice from your professional network. Fraud cases can be avoided by taking advice from experienced people.
Confirm with government or relevant agencies
If you have doubts about the validity of a job offer, you can check it with cybercrime helplines or relevant government agencies. Government agencies can help you report such fraud.
Report fraud cases
If you are a victim of a fraud or suspect that someone is committing fraud, immediately contact the cybercrime helpline or local police. Reporting early can protect other people from fraud.
Carefully consider any offers on social media
Information to job offers or investment schemes on social media is often fraudulent. Always be extra cautious before such offers and get complete information about them.
