Coronation Street's Leanne Battersby, played by , is set to face more heartbreak as she recently found out about her sister and partner's secret affair. However, off-screen, actor Jane has a rather more stable love life and has been with her husband for over 20 years.
In the soap, Leanne Battersby could land herself in hot water after attempting to frame her sister Toyah Battersby, played by . The owner of the Bistro was livid upon discovering that Toyah has continued her affair with Leanne's partner Nick Tilsley, played by .
In an attempt to get her sister charged with fraud, Leanne opened a bank account under Toyah's name and began transferring unauthorised payments from the Bistro's business account into it.
After being arrested on suspicion of theft and fraud, a confused Toyah couldn't figure out who would have opened the account with such detailed knowledge about her.
However, she later had the chilling realisation that it was Leanne who was framing her when DC Kit Green, played by Jacob Roberts, revealed that the password linked to the account was 'Rose2001'.
While Leanne maintained her innocence to Nick, she was angered by his initial uncertainty over who to trust. Eventually, he sided with his partner and made it clear that Toyah was no longer welcome.
Nick's covert rendezvous with Toyah, however, revealed their alliance, as he made a vow: "We've got to make sure she doesn't get away with this. Play her at her own game." Toyah agreed, remarking: "I wish it hadn't come to this, but this is war."
Away from Weatherfield's drama, actress enjoys a marital life that's a stark contrast to her unlucky-in-love Corrie character Leanne Battersby. The star has been married to soap heartthrob Robert Beck for nearly two decades.
Her husband Robert boasts an extensive soap career himself with credits from Brookside, , and Waterloo Road.
Robert also had a stint in back in 2008, and more recently played Fergus Collins in Hollyoaks on . He also appeared briefly last year in Emmerdale as the rogue Damon 'Harry' Harris.
This was not Robert's first role in Emmerdale; he played Gavin Ferris in the 90s, featuring in over 70 episodes. His 1999 appearance as Bernice Blackstock's (played by Samantha Giles) boyfriend led to drama when his character was caught kissing Jason Kirk (James Slark), leading to a dramatic storyline amid his engagement to Bernice.
Robert's announcement of his return to the Emmerdale cast brought joy to his wife, Jane, who feels a deep connection to the show since it played cupid in their love story. Meeting Robert at the British Soap Awards in the late 90s, Jane had already fancied him since she was a teen.

"The worst thing that I did was not talk about what I was going through and somehow it made the heartache even more painful. In time I learnt to talk and express just how broken I felt.
"With the love of my husband @robertbeck529 and support from my friends and family I began to heal. Sending love to anyone suffering."
