The 'Sussex Squad' have been slammed over a "ridiculous" AI-generated image made of and 's children.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who now reside in California, published their festive message earlier this month.

The card, which featured six photo highlights from the year, included a sweet picture of their children, now aged five and three.

and can be seen running into Harry and Meghan's arms in the sweet picture, however, royal fans were quick to comment that the couple had "faked" the snap.

Following the release of Meghan and Harry's card, fans later released a AI-generated portrait of the couple's rarely-seen children last week.

Seemingly made by an anonymous fan, the card read, "Merry Christmas & Happy New Year from Prince Archie & Princess Lilibet."

The computer-generated picture of Lilibet shows her wearing a dress similar to one she's been pictured wearing in previously released photographs by Meghan and Harry.

Archie, also computer-generated, is dressed in a cable-knit and cargo pants. Behind the children, the fan has also edited in the couple's two rescue beagles Mia and Guy.

After being spread widely across social media, one fan branded the image as "ridiculous". Another commented that it was "c**p photoshop".

One fan wrote: "The kids don't even look like brother and sister. They look exactly what they are. AI."

Another commented: "I can't believe people think [Meghan] actually shared that. It's getting ridiculous at this point."

A third said: 'This is c**p photoshop. [Archie's] trouser seam isn't joined together."
