wants to parade the Sid Waddell trophy at Anfield to taunt Manchester United if he wins the World Darts Championship. Liverpool host the Red Devils in a huge Premier League showdown on Sunday, just two days after the climax of the World Championship.

Eighth-seed Bunting booked his place in the quarter-finals after on Monday.

And the 39-year-old will take on Peter Wright on New Year's Day for a place in the last four.

Bunting, who comes from St Helens, is a huge Liverpool fan and showed off silverware to the Anfield crowd after winning the BDO World Championship in 2014.

And the star admitted he would love to have the opportunity to flaunt another trophy at the stadium if he can taste success at Ally Pally this week.

During his post-match press conference in the aftermath of his win against Woodhouse, Bunting was questioned about Chris Dobey's desire to parade the Sid Waddell trophy at St James' Park in the event the Newcastle fan is victorious in north London.

And Bunting said: "Anfield's better isn't it. It would be fantastic [to parade it there] and I think it would be made even more fantastic because we play Man United so that would be unbelievable just to shove that trophy down their throat as well.

"It would be a dream come true. At the end of the day it's difficult - I've got so many more games left to play and I'd be stupid to think about the title now.

"I've still got Peter Wright to play next round, I'm fully focused on that game. And then obviously I've got another game after that and another game after that.

"So listen, like I've always said, one game at a time, one dart at a time, one set at a time. It's all about preparing for that next game and I'll make sure I'm 100 per cent ready to play Peter Wright."

United have endured a miserable campaign and have fallen to 14th in the Premier League table after winning just six of their 19 matches.

The 13-time Premier League champions parted ways with Erik ten Hag in October and replaced him with Ruben Amorim as they attempted to turn their fortunes around. But the new boss has struggled to make an impact, with United travelling to Anfield off the back of three consecutive league defeats.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have enjoyed an incredible season under Arne Slot and are eight points ahead of second-place Nottingham Forest at the top of the table. The Reds have already won 14 league matches this campaign and are now huge favourites to lift the Premier League trophy for only the second time in their history.
