The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 kicked off with host Amitabh Bachchan reflecting on the year 2024 and celebrating India's remarkable achievements throughout the year. Adding to the grandeur of the episode, legendary artists Gurdas Maan and Shankar Mahadevan were invited as special guests.

Gurdas Maan made a spectacular entrance, captivating the audience and host alike with a mesmerizing performance. His enthralling song set the perfect tone for the episode, leaving Amitabh Bachchan and everyone present in awe of his talent. During his performance, Gurdas Maan displayed a heartfelt gesture of respect by touching the legs of host Amitabh Bachchan's chair. After finishing his song, he went a step further and bowed down to touch Big B 's feet, showcasing his admiration for the legendary actor.

Shankar Mahadevan then joined Gurdas Maan on stage, lighting up the atmosphere with a powerful rendition of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. Together, the two icons created an electrifying vibe, leaving the audience and Amitabh Bachchan thoroughly enthralled. Shankar Mahadev and Gurdas Mann took the hot seat and the former shared with the host that he feels like he is appearing for his physics exam. He praised the show for completing 25 years and shared that members of different age groups from his family watch the show.

Gurdas Maan praises Big B for his humble nature and says, "Sir Rishtey mein toh aap humare baap lagte hain." Mr Bachchan calls himself the biggest fan of Gurdas Mann and shares that he has been listening to his songs for many years now. He recalls his first meeting with with the legendary singer and reveals that they first met at an airport. Big B says, "Humari joh pehli mulaqat hui thi woh ek airport par hui thi aur aate he, inhone mujhe shashtang namaskar kiya, main itna nervous hogaya. Maine ne kaha Maan ji aisa mat kijiye main iss layak nahi hoon. Main toh shashtang pranaam aap dono ke saamne karta hoon. Kyunki joh gyaan aur kala aapke andar hai woh aam nahi hai. It's an example of perfectness."

Both the singers were on the quiz show to earn money for their NGOs. During his conversation, Shankar Mahadevan shares he runs a small music institute and Big B interrupts him and adds that it is not at all a small one. He further says how he had once tried to take admission there but got rejected.

During the episode, Gurdas Maan shared the inspiring story of his journey in the music industry and how it all began. He recalled how, during his school days, talent was celebrated every Saturday, and he often showcased his singing abilities. He mentioned receiving guidance from a few mentors during that time.

In college, Gurdas Maan gained recognition through Youth Festivals and even wrote his first song, a qawwali titled Dilda Maamla, for a play. It was during one such festival that a producer noticed him and invited him to perform in his first-ever television program, which aired on December 31st.

Host Amitabh Bachchan pointed out the beautiful coincidence that this episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati aired on December 31st, 2024, marking exactly 44 years of Gurdas Maan's illustrious career in the entertainment industry. On Shankar Mahadevan's request he performed the song and enthralled the audience. He got once more from the audience.

Next, Mr Bachchan shares that Shankar Mahadev has sung more than 7000 songs in different languages. The singer-music composure was an engineer and was going to the US for work. But his wife was the one who motivated him to change his profession. Shankar Mahadevan shared that he quit his job and the chance to go abroad to follow his passion for singing. Adding another layer of intrigue, Gurdas Maan disclosed an interesting and lesser-known fact about his life. He revealed that he was a Judo and Martial Arts expert and had aspired to build a career in that field. However, despite his best efforts to take an important test in Chandigarh, he couldn't make it for the interview. This revelation showcased the diverse and unexpected paths that led both artists to where they are today, inspiring viewers with their stories of perseverance and passion.

Shankar Mahadev further shared the story behind his famous song Breathless which was written by Javed Akhtar. Big B requests Shankar Mahadev to sing Breathless and the latter wins audiences hearts with his soulful voice. Big B shares that he doesn't wish to play the game and feels like enjoying the songs. Hearing this Shankar Mahadevan adds that Big B should straight away read the Rs 7 crore question. He says it in Abhishek Bachchan style.

Big B remarked, "Ye Abhishek hai na, unhone zyada popular kar diya. Aaye the program mein aur jab bhi koi answer correct hota tha, woh chillate the 'Rs 7 crore!' Ye ek aadat ban gayi sabki."
