60-Year-Old Man Held For Raping Minor

Satna (Madhya Pradesh): A 60-year-old man was arrested for raping a mentally challenged minor girl in rural area under Singhpur police station. In-charge of Singhpur police station Ajay Ahirwar said that on December 29, the girl went missing from her house, but when she returned home her mother was shocked seeing her condition.

When she was questioned, the girl said the elderly man called her to his house on the pretext of watching TV, Ahirwar said, adding that the man had violated her.

On the basis of her statement, the police arrested the man and registered a case against him under Protection of Children from Sexually Offences (POCSO) Act. The police, after registering a case, sent him to jail.

Woman Lodges Plaint Of Torture Against Constable Husband

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A woman has filed a complaint to senior police officers about the torture meted out to her by her constable husband, Kak who, she alleged, had an affair with another woman. She also alleged that her husband was harassing her parents demanding more dowries from them.

The woman Pragya Sharma, wife of constable Shivam Sharma lodged complaints at the DIG office and SP office, demanding action against her husband.

A resident of Lodhi Kuiya in Chhatarpur, Pragya said she was married to a constable Shivam, resident of Azad Chowk, Naya Panna, on April 21, 2024. After a few months, she came to know that he had an affair with another woman.

When she objected to his extramarital affair, her husband beat her up, the complainant said, adding that she had the video of the incident in which she was beaten up. The woman also said her mother-in-law and sister-in-law also beat her up.

The father Pragya, Uday Kumar Sharma, said his son-in-law had demanded Rs 5 lakh and a bike as dowry. Pragya said she had tried to file a complaint at the Mahila Thana and civil lines police station, but her complaint was not heard.
